Painting on Muslin "Edith Holden"

This is my first painting on muslin. I tore the muslin in 9x12 squares, and then put two coats of gesso mixed with acrylic paint. I did the sketch in charcoal and then painted the painting in acrylics.
I named her after the author of one of my favorite reference books, The Country Diary of An Edwardian Lady. I think Edith Holden would like my flower head girls. Maybe she was a flower head girl herself.
A print of this painting is available on etsy.
See post below for instructions from other bloggers who paint on muslin.

Thank you!
Yes, that's one of the reasons I thought it would be cool, I can sew it too, or embroider.

So pretty, I love this one!
I've been toying with the idea of fabrics for a while now, but me and fabric don't have a great history together. lol

I really liked the charcoal version, but have to admit that I like it even better than better in color. :)

Thank you so much everyone! I am so very pleased with how she turned out. I love how the paint sinks into the muslin, and the wrinkly look of the fabric under the paint suits me! I keep going upstairs to my little studio and painting a new one, every night, even though I am tired!
I have already sold the original to Edith Holden and Evaline, that I just listed on etsy last night.
Anyone who buys this weeks print gets both versions. the sketch and the painted version of Edit Holden, I mean.
