Week 42 - 52 week project 5x7 print Flowers in A Turquoise Vase

Here is this weeks print. I did it in 2008 but I don't think I have ever shown it online and I tweaked it a bit today. It is very inspired by an artist that used to sell on ebay, her name was Sofia or Zofia, I think. If anyone knows where to find her online, I would sure like to know. I loved her work.

I also need to post pictures of my pillows I got from Jenny Elkins, but I have not been able to get good pictures of them.

Bob Ross

Julie Fillo Does anyone besides me find Bob Ross's voice and the way he talks to be incredibly sexy? I don't really watch him, I just listen to him. His afro sort of puts me off if I look at him. Just close your eyes and listen. You will get all shivery. I think it's because he whispers. He whispers about painting. Jeesh!

I have been rather busy this week, not much time for painting, There is one more in this whale series, the whale with the moon, and I am not sure which size that will print to. I am going to leave all the whales at $2 so you can buy the set if you like. As soon as I can, I will list the larger whale moon print.

Week 40 - 52 Week Project Julie Fillo Whale With Wistful Grimace 5x7 print

So here is this weeks print, I can't believe I am at week 40. Only 12 weeks to go!

I want to post some beautiful pillows I got from Jenny Elkins, but I was so busy painting today that I did not get a picture in daylight, and they deserve daylight, people.

I am watching the grandsons tomorrow, so it will probably be tuesday or wednesday before I get to it.

I am watching them at a hotel because their condo caught fire on Jan 31. Everyone is ok. But boy has our family been through it in the last few weeks. Really wondering if we will survive.

I know I also need to post photos of the redecorating. I hung paintings today, so when I take pics of Jenny's pillows, I will try to do that too.

"Endure" Week 37 year long project

These are dark days for me, my friends. I have lost two of my dearest companions for now, and another battles a terrible disease. I am fighting to keep myself strong.

In my thoughts about how to survive this, I remember a card a friend sent, years ago to me during another dark time. It meant a lot to me, and I still have it. I decided to use it's words as this weeks inspiration, because I will have to wait for days of happiness. My world seems to have no color and I strive to remember there could be color again if I wait. I will wait and watch and work. I will keep myself busy and when there is time, I will try to paint beautiful paintings to prove that my heart still beats.

I'm sorry my friends, I had to dig up something from 2008 to post this week as we have had a rough few days. I hope to be able to do something new next week.

Update on Circa Show Sales

The other day I sold all the whale paintings, and between last night and this morning, I sold Botanical Serenade twice. One of the people who wants it was willing to wait for me to paint a new one. I guess I was right not to paint figures...

Orchids from our kids

Our son and daughter in law sent us these beautiful orchids. They are in NY and can't be here with us right now, so they sent flowers. I'm trying to paint our living room right now, you can see the ladder in the background, so it's nice to have the dining room looking good with pretty flowers. My next project will be the dining room. I'm going to paint the part above the plate rail black. Scary.

We had a delightful weekend a couple weeks ago on Lopez Island with our friends, Ken and Jeanette. Most of these pics are of the food we made, or us eating. That's what we did. The cabin we rented is called Lopez Island Retreat and I highly recommend it as a getaway.
