Week 28 52 Week project Amanita Mushroom Honeysuckle Girl Print 5x7

Here is my new print for this week. I am showing and offering two views for the print because it was done in my moleskine, so there is the bindery line down the middle of the painting.

Camping on Hood Canal, Duckabush, Quilcene, Dosewallips Rivers

We just went for probably the last camping trip until spring. It rained like crazy, but we still had fun. We drove around looking for photo ops on Saturday, but it was so wet, Dave only took one picture and I took none. The rivers were raging,

It cleared off on Sunday morning, so we went up the Duckabush and found some beauty.

All the little campgrounds are closed, but we found a beautiful little one that we will come back for next spring. We also found a cabin we had not known about. It's called Interrorum cabin and it costs $30 a night. There is no running water, and you have to use an outhouse. It's adorable, though. We saw tons of mushrooms and I got a wildlife shot. The chipmunk- or it might be a squirrel, there is some controversy about this...

Shaggy Mane Mushrooms

unknown mushies

pretty roads everywhere

Dave takes a shot, this was before he hurt his back! Also, I took it through the truck window so it's blurry. I just want to remember when he could still move.

Duckabush River at Collins Campground

The outhouse for the cabin. I must say these are the cutest outhouses I have ever seen, but they still stink inside.

Back porch of the cabin

Interrorum cabin built in 1907 by the first Olympic ranger. Mr Finch, he built it himself and brought his new bride there. Lucky girl.
I felt kind of bad snooping around the cabin, since it was rented, but the people were gone, so I looked in the windows. Yes, I'm like that.
You can see me in the reflection of the window, but that white teapot really got me... inside where I am soft like a woman, and knowing that I won't EVER stay in this cabin

Primitive. Yikes! I like my paid for 1986 fifth wheel better. We can make lattes and it's warm as toast.

The Helicopter kite

Happier than he looks

Sky had the day off school yesterday and it was a beautiful day, so we went to the beach. My mom came too. He got a cool helicopter kite and it flew on the first try.

3 things I have learned (or re-learned)this week

1.You should not apply deodorant right after you shave your armpits. (meet itchy and scratchy)
2. There is no 'e' between the judge and the ment. It's spelled judgment. I have been spelling it and doing it wrong for almost 50 years, probably. I'm going to use spell check more often and work on trying not to judge...
3. You have to let people make their own mistakes. Even if it seems like they are on a crash course to disaster, or if they are not making any choices and seeming to let bad things happen. It's my job to say my piece (or not) and then let it go and just love them anyway. And I do.

edit*** Just got a note from my mother in law, (thank you Martha) She said that you can spell judgement with an 'e'! You can spell it either way. How about that? Since she is older and wiser, I will believe her.

Week 25 Print Peppermint Ice Queen, also some journal pages

As requested I'm going to make the peppermint girl my 5x7 print this week, and I'm also posting some assignment moleskine journal pages from my SuziBlu class.
That girl on the right looks like a bad caricature of Janeane Garofalo, and no amount of reworking has made her prettier. Not that I don't think JG is pretty. I said BAD caricature.
The red haired girl is a take on one SB did for the class, with some Klimt imagery too, can't seem to quiet that obsession.... She has fabric and a handcarved stamp applied to her too, and all sorts of media.
Sorry I have not replied to any comments, I will, it's been a busy week and next week worse.
I will announce the print winner tomorrow.

Etsy Shop Update 3 originals

Ok, I lied. I said I would do a shop update on Monday, and here it is Thursday and I am just getting it done. I went into a housecleaning frenzy instead. I'm over it, but when the mood strikes me to clean, I have to jump on that pony. Everyone in the family thanks you for your patience.
Click on the photo if you want to buy these original paintings.

Don't forget the giveaway! Leave a comment on the post below to be entered, Sky will pick one on Sunday night.
